Cowden signs with Senators golf program

Morristown, Tenn.

Justin Cowden has signed his national letter of intent to play golf at Walters State announced Walters State head coach Brad Hawkins.

Cowden, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee will join the Walters State team next fall. Cowden had an impressive record at Halls High School, where he was coached by Bill Warren and then Ashley McGaha. Cowden was an All-District and All-Region performer his senior year.

"Justin Cowden is an outstanding young man. He exemplifies the type of character we want on this golf team. Justin is also very smart and will be a great asset to this golf team in the coming year. We are really looking forward to having him here at Walters State."

During his junior year, Cowden had an average score of 75.8. He improved almost 4 shots heading into his senior year where he averaged 72, which qualified him for the Sneds Tour Tournament of Champions.
