Arcuas “Deuce” McGhee is entering his second season as an assistant coach on the Walters State men’s basketball staff in the 2024-25 season.
McGhee’s addition to the staff is after spending a oversees pro career in Guatemala, Mexico for Limoneros De Colima.
"Coach McGhee is an up-and-coming star in this business and I’m are extremely fortunate to have him join the staff," said Nichols. "His knowledge of the game, and ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes, combined with his playing background will be a huge asset to our program. Often called “Coach Deuce”, he was influential in helping the program be successful in year one by winning the TCCAA Regular Season Championship, and make a berth to the NJCAA National Tournament. – Coach Jerry Nichols
He was vital in game preparation by helping with scouts. He also cut and distributed practice and game footage, help with student-athletes individual session, to improve the student-athlete's performance. He also plays a big part in monitoring student-athletes academic progress.
Coach McGhee played collegiately for four years. Out of high school, he signed to play basketball at the University of Tennessee-Martin. He transferred to Southwest Tennessee in 2016 and played one seasons under Coach Jerry Nichols before finishing his career at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Florida.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., McGhee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2022. He also obtain his associate’s degree in 2017 at Southwest Tennessee.
