Tyler McNeer is entering his first year as Esports Coordinator for Walters State in 2023. Tyler has been competing in Esports for 8 years including 4 years at Virginia Commonwealth University. While at VCU Tyler was both a player and coach leading the university’s Super Smash Bros. team to wins against local schools such as University of Maryland and George Mason University. VCU was also undefeated against rival school University of Richmond in the 4 years he was coaching.

While coaching the team Tyler managed the club’s Discord server and Twitch channel. He grew the Discord server to have over 300 members and became Twitch affiliated over the 4 years at VCU. In the 2019 season Tyler also joined the VCU Rocket League team to assist with practices and organizing scrimmages.

Tyler is excited to start the Walters State Esports program and continue the growth of collegiate Esports.
