MORRISTOWN, Tenn. -- Kajuan Hale needed just over a second to show how Tuesday's game would go.

Hale drove to the hoop immediately after the opening tip to break the scoreless tie, igniting Walters State's 114-83 triumph over Bristol Prep Academy at 'Z' Buda Gymnasium.

He buried a pair of 3-pointers along with an and-one as his second triple gave WSCC a 23-7 lead in the first half, and he added pair of fast break buckets and a fallaway to start the second half before adding another triple to finish with 22 points for the Senators (6-2).

"Probably any of them could have gotten 22 if we had gotten it to them enough," Walters State coach Bill Carlyle said. "We tried to spread the minutes out tonight. Everybody got to play a little, so that's a good thing."

Hale was one of five players in double figures as Demontay Dixon dropped 15 points, Westin Reynolds and Deontae Davis both had 13 and Seth Lenard-Battle added 10.

All six of Dixon's field goals came from in the paint, one coming through contact and five occurring in the opening half. He later assisted Miles Thomas on an alley-oop in the second half for a 92-68 lead before Davis hit from 3-point range.

Walters State scored the first 10 points of the game, the last two baskets coming from Dixon who later finished two straight layups for a 52-25 first half cushion.

The lead grew to 63-32 at halftime when Paris Taylor finished a reverse layup in the closing ticks.

Reynolds got his points on a pair of baseline jumpers and a drive in the first half along with a 3-pointer, and he put back a miss in the second half to cap his night.

Damarian Gulley led the way for Bristol Prep as he gunned in a game-high 33 points, an effort which included five 3-pointers in the second half. Aaron Njike and Tyler Torbett joined Gulley in double figures with 11 points each.

Walters State held a comfortable lead throughout the night, its largest coming at 107-73.

"It's kind of hard to keep your focus when you play that kind of game, but it's good for all the kids some of them that don't get to play a lot," Carlyle said. "I wasn't very happy with our defensive effort, but it's hard to defend somebody when you're up 25 or 30 so I understand those things."

The Senators return to action in the Wallace State Classic this weekend, taking on North American at 5 p.m. Friday before facing Coastal Alabama-East on
