Vaughan inks with Walters State golf

Morristown, Tenn

Nate Vaughan has signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Walters State Community College, announced head coach Brad Hawkins.

Vaughan, a native of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, is the youngest of three children. Nate's parents, Tommy and Carol Ann, were very instrumental in Nate growing as a player. Attending Pigeon Forge High School, Nate holds a 3.48 GPA.

Vaughan's golf accomplishments are lengthy. His senior year of high school he averaged 36.6 for 9 holes. The opening 5 Star Preps high school tournament was held at Oak Ridge Country Club, where Vaughan shot a 70-71. The 3-under par score was good enough to win by 2. Nate was also a three-time participant in the TSSAA State Golf Tournament, where he finished in the top 10 twice. Finally, Nate was also a 2019-2020 Prep Xtra Golfer of the Year nominee.

"Nate is a great young man who will be an asset to this golf team when he gets here. He has a great golf game and is surrounded by a great family that will support him. I am expecting big things from him in his two years at Walters State", said coach Brad Hawkins.
