Senators in first place after opening day of Alice Lloyd Last Shot
DANVILLE, KY – Walters State leads by five shots after the opening day of the Alice Lloyd Last Shot on Saturday at Old Bridge Golf Club.
As a team, the Senators shot even-par (288). Rio Grande is in second place at 5-over.
Leading the way for Walters State was Bowen Brantley in a tie for second place at 1-under. Brantley was greatly helped out by an eagle on the 515-yard par-5 sixth, and he also birdied the 11th, 16th and 18th holes.
Along with Brantley, Nick Talley and Alex Gaetz are tied for sixth at even-par. Talley birdied the second, 10th and 17th holes, while Gaetz caught fire on the back nine with birdies on the 11th, 12th and 18th holes.
Rounding out the Walters State team were Blake Woody in a tie for ninth at 1-over and Sloan Brooks in a tie for 19th at 4-over. Woody had six birdies in the round, on the second, fourth, sixth, eighth, 11th and 17th holes, and Brooks birdied the 18th hole.
Playing as an individual, Jonas Rayfield is in a tie for 34th at 7-over. Rayfield had birdies on the fourth, 14th and 18th holes.
