Brad Hawkins is entering his first year as the head coach for Walters State. For the past 2 years Hawkins assisted Walters State legend, Bill Gardner. During the 2019 season, Hawkins assisted Gardner in coaching the team to runner-up finish at the NJCAA National Championship.

Hawkins played his first two years of collegiate golf at Walters State in 2013 and 2014. During his freshman year he led the team to a runner up finish at the NJCAA National Championship. He was named to the Ping 2nd Team All-America list. He was also named NJCAA First Team All-America.

During his sophomore year he lead the team to the first ever NJCAA National Championship for the golf program. He was named First Team All-America by Ping and the NJCAA.

Hawkins’ final two years of college golf were played at Tusculum University in 2015 and 2016. He was named MVP of the golf team during both seasons. During his junior year he averaged 72.3 and was named First-Team All Conference in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).

During his senior season he averaged 70.7. This was good enough to be named the SAC Men’s Golfer of the Year. The 70.7 scoring average was the lowest in NCAA Division II for the 2016 season. Finally, Hawkins was named an NCAA Division II 2nd Team All-America because of his scoring average. Hawkins holds 8 school records at Tusculum University (most under  par rounds, low round, low 36-hole score, low 54-hole score, low single season stroke average and low career stroke average). He was also named to the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) 1st Team Academic All-American.

After graduating from Tusculum University, Hawkins played professional golf where he has 2 professional wins on the GPro Tour. In 2017, Hawkins had status on the PGA Tour Canada and also Monday qualified for a Web.com event in Knoxville, TN.
