Lady Senators even record at 3-3 with road sweep

DOBSON, N.C. — Down two sets to none early on Saturday afternoon in its first of two matches on the day, the Walters State volleyball team needed a spark.

The Lady Senators got it from the duo of Kaley Muncy and Micayla Vallie, as the two combined for 26 kills in leading WSCC past Surry in five games before sweeping past Lenoir in the nightcap.

Walters State lost the first two games to Surry, 26-24 and 25-20, and never were out of it in either set until the final point was won in both games. The third game was nearly all Lady Senators, as Muncy and Vallie led the way in a 25-19 win before WSCC reeled off a 25-13 win in the fourth and 15-13 win in the fifth set to win the match.

The second match of the day saw the Lady Senators sandwich easy set victories in the first and third games around a hard fought nail-biter in the middle set, as Walters State swept Lenoir 25-17, 29-27 and 25-15 to sweep the road series.
