Walter State's Megan Blaylock was named the NJCAA Region VII coach of the year Saturday after leading the Lady Senators to a 19-7 record and a regular season conference title.
Freshman Olivia Oxendine (Pensacola, Fla.) was named the region's Most Valuable Player. Freshman Amanda Singleton (Knoxville, Tenn.) was recognized as the Region VII Freshman of the Year.
Singleton, Oxendine, sophomore Alexis Wakefield (Portland, Tenn.) and sophomore Courtney Dotson (Greeneville, Tenn.) were all named to the All-Region team. No other Region VII team had more than two players named to the squad.

The Lady Senators will return home to 'Z' Buda Gymnasium for one final regular season tilt against No. 5-ranked Catawba Valley Community College on Tuesday.
