Sadlon takes home top honor for second straight year in Walters State Half Marathon

MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State hosted their second annual half marathon on Saturday morning and for the second straight year, Ryan Sadlon took home first place.

 

Sadlon was the top finisher of the race with a time of 1:26:33. Sadlon shaved off three minutes from last year's winning time.

 

The Lady Senators Lily Dodson was the top women finisher in the race with a time of 1:53:30.

 

Taking home second place overall was Jacob Manning with a time of 1:31:30 and right behind him was Lucas Greineder with a time of 1:31:30.

 

Walters State President Dr. Tony Miksa came in fourth place in the race with a time of 1:38:43 while Gabe Davis came in fifth in 1:41:54.

 

Other times in the race were Alex Leblanc in 1:51:49, Nadia Lopez in 1:58:39, Emily Wright in 2:01:57, Meghan Davis in 2:42:05, Katlyn Noonan in 2:42:04 and Amelia Weeks in 2:06:20.

 

There were two relay teams that participated in the race as well. The team of Ron Watzke and Paul Ludwig ran a time of 2:01:57 while the team of Stephanie Hull, Bert Hull, Ron Miksa and Willow Miksa ran a time of 1:55:5.

 

The event was a success as there were 21 total participants.

 

"It's great to get our team out here to race and love the chance to get involved in the community," Walters State coach Raymond Farmer said. "We're thankful for the runners that came out and participated today and are hoping to continue to grow this in the future. It's a great event."

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State returns to action next Saturday, travelling to participate in the Berry College Invitational. That race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
