SPARTANBURG, SC — Walters State concluded the SMC Invitational on Saturday splitting two matches. The Lady Senators fell to Monroe College 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-17) before taking down USC Sumter 3-0 (25-12 25-15 26-24).

 

With the split, Walters State moves to 3-7 on the season. 

 

After falling in match one to Monroe College, the Lady Senators came out fired up against USC Sumter. The Lady Senators got up early and didn't let off the gas as they took set one 25-12. 

 

In set two, Walters State continued their onslaught as they went up 2-0 with a 25-15 victory. In set three, both teams battled tough before the Lady Senators closed it out with a 26-24 victory. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 21, on the road against Cleveland State. The match is set for 6:30 p.m.
