LEBANON, TN — Walters State continued their strong finish to the season on Saturday afternoon, taking down Cumberland University JV 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19).
With the win, Walters State improves to 12-8 on the year. The Lady Senators are now on a six game winning streak.
Things started strong for the Lady Senators with two close set victories to go up 2-0. Despite losing the third set, the Lady Senators came back from a 23-15 deficit to make it close. They closed out the match with a 25-19 set four victory.
Blaylock approaches 100 career wins
With Saturday's win, Walters State head coach Megan Blaylock achieved career win number 99. Blaylock is 99-46 overall as head coach of the Lady Senators.
Blaylock will be the first volleyball coach in Walters State history to eclipse 100 career wins.
Up next:
Walters State will be back in action on Tuesday as they travel to take on Roane State at 6:30. It'll be Blaylock's first attempt at career win No. 100.
