CHATTANOOGA, TN – Walters State locked up the top seed in next weekend's Region 7 Tournament on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-20) sweep of Chattanooga State. 


With the win, Walters State improved to 20-7 on the season and 6-1 in conference play. It's the first 20-win season since 2019. 

 

In Tuesday's win, Lauren Mims had eight kills and 10 digs while Jaci Drinnon added 19 digs. Other contributors included Alyssa Campbell with eight kills and three blocks, Haylee Richardson with six kills and three blocks, Maddie Rockrohr with five kills and 10 digs and Olivia Brown with 18 assists and four aces. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will close out conference play on Thursday as they host Cleveland State at 6:30 p.m. The Lady Senators finish up the regular season next Monday with Sophomore Night against Bryan College JV at 6:30 p.m. 

 

The Region 7 Tournament starts on Oct. 27 as No. 1 Walters State plays No. 4 Cleveland State at Cleveland State at 4:30 p.m.
