Senators finish second, Lady Senators third at Bruins Invite

GREENVILLE, SC – The Walters State men's cross country team finished in second place on Saturday morning in the Bruins Invite hosted by Bob Jones University. The Lady Senators came in third place on the women's side of the race. 

 

Bob Jones won both the men's and women's races.

 

For Walters State, the men were led by Ryan Sadlon who continued his impressive fall season with a 12th place finish and time of 29:13.

 

Along with Sadlon on the men's side, Lucas Greineder and Alexander LeBlanc both had strong showings. Greineder came in 20th place with a time of 30:41 while LeBlanc was right behind him in 21st place with a time of 30:53.

 

Other runners for Walters State on the men's side were Kenneth Manning (31:34) in 24th place, Nicholas Noble (31:34) in 25th place, Gabriel Davis (32:14) in 29th place, Christopher Gaby (35:58) in 34th place and Brian Kiplagai (38:06) in 37th place. 

 

On the women's side, it was Amelia Weeks who led the way with an 18th place finish and time of 22:09. Lily Dodson was close behind Weeks with a 23rd place finish and time of 22:50. 

 

Nadia Lopez and Emily Wright were the next finishers for Walters State. Lopez came in 26th place with a time of 23:40 while Wright came in 30th with a time of 24:15. 

 

Rounding out the runners for the Lady Senators were Katlyn Noonan (27:38) in 43rd place and Meghan Davis (29:48) in 44th place. 

 

The race was an 8K on the men's side and a 5K on the women's side. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will close out the season on Nov. 13 at the 2021 NJCAA DII National Championships. The Championship will be held in Richmond, VA with the women running at 11:15 and the men at 12:45.
