Coffman named TCCAA Pitcher of the Year for second straight season

MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State's Tori Coffman was named the TCCAA Pitcher of the Year on Friday for the second straight season. 

 

Along with Coffman, Jules Johnson, Brooklyn Copley and Kailey Dixon made All-TCCAA First Team. Nora Mack and Abigail Taylor were named to the All-TCCAA Second Team. 

 

Despite missing a month, Coffman finished the regular season with an 18-1 record and has five saves. She struck out 216 in 114.2 innings and has a 0.61 ERA. Coffman is first in the conference, and second in the country, in ERA, first in the conference in strikeouts, tied for first in the conference in wins and first in the conference in saves. Her career record now stands at 50-2. She has a career ERA of 0.91 and has totaled 512 strikeouts. 

 

On First Team, Johnson made it for Walters State behind the plate. Johnson led the team with 17 home runs and drove in 65 runs. Johnson hit .404 for the season. Copley was the conference's best third baseman after hitting 16 home runs and 51 RBI. Copley hit .364. Last on First Team for Walters State was Dixon in center field. Dixon hit .479 and drove in 54 runs. Dixon stole 26 bases and had a .537 OBP.

 

On Second Team, Mack made it at shortstop. Mack hit .425 with four home runs and drove in 47 runs. Mack stole 27 bases. Lastly, Taylor made it in right field. Taylor hit .455 and stole 33 bases. She struck out just four times all season.
