
HARRIMAN, TN — Walters State competed in the Raider Invite Friday evening.
As a team, Walters State finished in second-place on the men's side. The women had four runners compete.
The men's race was an 8k, while the women raced a 5k.
On the men's side, Gideon Erwin led the way with a fifth-place finish and time of 29:40. The second finisher for Walters State was Samuel Runyan in 10th with a time of 30:24.
Other finishers were Juan Guillen in 15th with a time of 31:08, Wade Walters in 19th with a time of 31:48, Ignacio Vargas Huipe in 26th with a time of 35:05, Edgar Martinez in 30th with a time of 38:16, Parker Minor in 31st with a time of 38:31, Walter Kredzik in 33rd with a time of 40:57 and Benjamin Eigenmann in 34th with a time of 41:11.
For the women, Naomi Merrill was Walters State's lead finisher in 17th-place and time of 25:32. Taylor Starnes was right behind Merrill in 18th with a time of 26:06.
Other runners for the Lady Senators were Cindy De Leon in 20th with a time of 26:58 and McKayla Ruchala in 21st with a time of 28:08.

Walters State will be back in action next Saturday in Shelby, NC at the Yeti Invitational. The men will run at 9 a.m. With the women to follow.
