Senators drop final game at Brunswick Classic to No. 15 Caldwell Tech, 107-75

BOLIVIA, N.C. — Caldwell Community College and Technical School opened the game hot and never cooled down for the next 40 minutes. Walters State went shot-for-shot in the second half with the No. 15-ranked Cobras, but it wasn't enough as they fell 107-75 on the final day of the Brunwick Classic Sunday.

Caldwell (10-0) put up 53 points in the opening half in spite of the Senators taking an early lead in the first three minutes of the period. Tyler Arnold sank a three to put WSCC up 5-4 before two free throws from Jalen Crowder put the Cobras back ahead for good.

Caldwell shot 60.3 percent for the game and hit 18 three-pointers. The Senators (10-6) were solid beyond the arc, converting 13-of-24, but were just 38 percent from the floor. The Cobras won the battle of the boards by a significant margin, 44-26.

Lloyd Hemming led the way for Caldwell with 25 points. Alex Lineberger scored 14, Na'Kwan Kitchen had 12 and Demitri Dixon finished with 11.

WSCC got 19 points from Arnold. Kobe Powell was good for 16 points and Darius Allen contributed 12.
