MORRISTOWN, TN – The Walters State men's basketball program is starting a new tradition and is inviting all former players to join.
Thanks to locker room renovations this offseason, the Senators were able to put a replica of Carlyle-Kragel court on a wall inside the locker room. Walters State head coach Jerry Nichols is now asking all former players who come back for a game to sign the replica court.
Fittingly, former Walters State head coach Bill Carlyle was the first to sign the court, doing so after the Senators win over Union College JV.
"The Walters State tradition goes far," Walters State coach Jerry Nichols said. "We've had numerous alumni that have gone on to be very successful at four-year programs. The tradition that Coach Carlyle has built has been remarkable. I just want to put something in our locker room that honors that tradition and lifelong success. We hope alumni will come back to see our teams play this year and to see our updated facilities."
