TALLAHASSEE, FL – Walters State's Julianne Dodson has been the lead runner for the Lady Senators team all season and Saturday morning, at the biggest race of the season, it was not different. 

Running in the NJCAA DII National Championship, Dodson ran a personal best 20:42 as she finished in 36th place out of 218 runners. The time was her fastest of the season by two seconds. 

As a team, the Lady Senators finished in 21st place out of 28 teams. Lansing CC won the National Championship.

On the men's side, Brando Resendiz was the top finisher in 127th place with a time of 30:23. The Senators finished in 28th place. Paradise Valley won the National Championship.

Along with Dodson, Ameilia Weeks was the second to cross the line for Walters State in 119th place with a time of 22:45. Emma Hamilton finished third for Walters State in 133rd place with a time of 23:03.

Other racers for the Lady Senators were Molly Wright in 157th with a time of 23:59, Ashley Soto Perez in 170th with a time of 24:30 and Emily Wright in 213th with a time of 30:13. 

Coconino CC's Hayley Burns won the women's race with a time of 18:22. 

On the men's side, Alexander LeBlanc finished second behind Resendiz in 188th place with a time of 32:40. Sam Hall was the third finisher for Walters State in 205th with a time of 35:00.

Other finishers for Walters State were Carl Andes in 211th with a time of 36:37, Lucas Greineder in 212th with a time of 37:19 and Jessie Ramos in 216th with a time of 38:42.

Mesa CC's Yotuel Garcia won the men's race with a time of 25:25.

Walters State's season is capped off in Tallahassee on Tuesday, Nov. 15, as the Senators and Lady Senators will take part in the NJCAA Half Marathon National Championship.
