OAKWOOD, GA – Both Walters State men's and women's cross country teams competed in the University of North Georgia Cross Country Invitational on Friday evening.
The men's team finished in eighth place, while the women had four runners compete.
On the men's side, freshman Gideon Erwin led the way in 28th place and a time of 27:38. Brando Resendiz was not far behind Erwin in 39th place with a time of 28:11.
The third finisher for Walters State was freshman Wade Walters in 73rd with a time of 30:54. Rounding out the team were Juan Guillen in 82nd with a time of 32:55, Jessie Ramos in 86th with a time of 35:17, Ignacio Vargas Huipe in 87th with a time of 35:23 and Benjamin Eigenmann in 89th with a time of 38:32.
For the Lady Senators, Julianne Dodson had a phenomenal race, finishing in 14th place with a time of 19:05. Chloe Williford was the next finisher for the Lady Senators in 45th place and a time of 22:07.
Rounding out the Lady Senators were Emma Hamilton in 57th place with a time of 24:17 and Lani Helton in 62nd place with a time of 25:15.
The men's race was an 8K, while the women ran a 5K.

Walters State will be back in action on Saturday, September 23rd at the Yet Invitational in Shelby, NC.
