Huntsville, AL – Both men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NJCAA DII Cross Country National Championship on Saturday in Birmingham, AL.
On the men's side, the Senators came in 33rd place. The women's team had four runners compete.
Leading the way for the Lady Senators was Julianne Dodson. Dodson finished in 22nd place with a time of 19:38.
Along with Dodson, Chloe Williford finished in 163rd with a time of 22:44, while Emma Hamilton finished in 172nd with a time of 22:55. Lani Helton finished in 227th with a time of 24:41.
For the men, Brando Resendiz finished in 76th place with a time of 27:20. Along with Resendiz, Juan Guillen finished in 171st with a time of 29:17.
Other finishers for Walters State were Wade Walters in 240th with a time of 32:21, Igancio Vargas Huipe in 268th with a time of 34:19, Benjamin Eignemann in 276nd with a time of 35:26 and Jessie Ramos in 280th with a time of 36:42.
The men's race was an 8k, while the women ran a 5k.

Walters State will close out their season on Tuesday with the NJCAA Half Marathon National Championship. The race will start at 9 a.m.
