Senators, Lady Senators race at Roanoke Invitational

ROANOKE, VA – The Walters State cross country team returned to action and competed at the Roanoke Invitational on Friday evening.

 

As a team, the men finished in 15th place. The Lady Senators had four runners compete at the meet. 

 

Leading the way for the Lady Senators was Julianne Dodson. Dodson finished the 6K in 29th place with a time of 24:39. Behind her was Chloe Williford in 80th place and a time of 27:34. Other runners for Walters State were Emma Hamilton in 87th with a time of 28:11 and Lani Helton in 114th with a time of 31:11. 

 

On the men's side, Brando Resendiz finished the 8K in 36th place with a time of 27:10. Behind him was Gideon Erwin in 58th place with a time of 28:12 and Juan Guillen in 119th with a time of 30:57.

 

Rounding out the team were Wade Walters in 145h with a time of 32:46, Ignacio Vargas Huipe in 157th with a time of 34:53, Jessie Ramos in 159th with a time of 35:34 and Benjamin Eigenmann in 168th with a time of 37:38. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will be back in action next Friday at the Firehawk Invitational in Florence, AL. The women run at 9:45 a.m., with the men to follow at 10:30 a.m.
