MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State took home both the TCCAA Men's and Women's Runnerso of the week on Tuesday morning.

For the men, Gideon Erwin won the honor while Naomi Merrill won the honor on the women's side.

Erwin was named runner of the week following an 18th-place finish at the Warhawk Invitational and a time of 27:40 in the 8k race. The race had 127 runners and Erwin's time was over a minute quicker than his previous season best. 

For Merrill, she was named runner of the week after finishing in 26th-place at the Warhawk Invitational. Merrill ran the 5k in 23:10, which is her fastest time of the season by 11 seconds. 

The Senators and Lady Senators are back in action on Friday, October 25, for the Region VII Championships at Roane State.
