Myatt named NJCAA DI Baseball Player of the Week

MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State's Tyler Myatt had a week to remember and was honored for it by the NJCAA.

Helping guide the Senators to a 5-0 week, Myatt went 10-15 at the plate, crushed four home runs and drove in 13 runs. For that, Myatt was named the NJCAA DI Baseball Player of the Week.

Myatt was also named the TCCAA Baseball Player of the Week. Myatt is the first Senator to be named NJCAA DI Baseball Player of the Week since Caleb Marmo in March of 2023.

Myatt started his impressive week by smacking two home runs and driving in three runs against Motlow State on Monday. In game one on Friday against Chattanooga State, Myatt had four hits, one being a double, and drove in three runs.

Following a two-RBI game on Saturday against Chattanooga State, Myatt closed the week strong as he hit two more home runs and drove in five runs in the finale against the Tigers.

For the season, Myatt is hitting .442 with five home runs and 20 RBIs.

Myatt and the Senators are back in action on Friday, hosting Southwest Tennessee in a doubleheader on Friday. First pitch is set for 12 pm ET.
