Walters State in fourth place after first two rounds of Bojangles TN Intercollegiate

VONORE, TN -- Trying to close out their fall season strong, the Walters State golf team sits in fourth place after two rounds of the Bojangles TN Intercollegiate.

 

The Senators shot 21-over as a team over the first two rounds, shooting 296 in the first round and 301 in the second round for a combined total of 597.

 

Leading the way for the Senators was Chad Homan (Knoxville, TN) who sits in a tie for eighth place at one-over. Homan shot a 72 in round one and a 73 in round two. Following closely behind him is Nate Vaughan (Sevierville, TN) who is in a tie for 11th place. Vaughan shot 73 and 76, good enough for a score of four-over.

 

Sophomore Stephen Owen (Rogersville, TN) shot eight-over which puts him in a tie for 18th while Dalton Sutton (Ooltewah, TN) is in a tie for 21st at nine-over. Hunter Hartman (Greeneville, TN) rounded out the scoring for Walters State with a 13-over. He is in a tie for 29th place.

 

Tennessee Wesleyan is leading the tournament with an impressive 11-under team score. They lead Reinhardt, who is in second, by 15 shots and Dalton State, who is in third, by 17 shots. Following behind the Senators to round out the top five is Cleveland State at 36-over.

 

Up Next:

Walters State will be back in action tomorrow for the final round of the Bojangles TN Intercollegiate. It will also conclude the fall season for the Senators.
