Senators in tie for fifth after first day of Atomic City Classic

OAK RIDGE, TN – Walters State sits in a tie for fifth place with Cleveland State after the first day of the Atomic City Classic on Monday afternoon. 

 

As a team, the Senators shot 17-over. Roane State leads the tournament at even-par. 

 

Leading the way for Walters State is Ashton Pratt at one-over, 73. Pratt birdied the fifth, 11th and 16th holes in his round and is in a tie for eighth. 

 

Along with Pratt, Bowen Brantley (T-17) shot a three-over, 75. Brantley birdied holes three, four and 11 in his round. Ian Kinsey is behind Brantley in a tie for 30th at six-over. Kinsey birdied the sixth, seventh, ninth and 12th holes. 

 

Other golfers for Walters State were Sloan Brooks (T-35), Jonas Rayfield (T-54) and Blake Woody (T-63). Brooks birdied the 14th hole to shoot a seven-over, Rayfield birdied holes one and five to shoot a 10-over and Woody birdied hole seven to shoot a 13-over.
