PLYMOUTH, IN – Walters State's AJ Rinehart is in a six-way tie for first place after three rounds at the NJCAA DII Golf Championship at Swan Lake Resort.
On Thursday, Rinehart shot a one-over to move to three-under on the tournament through three rounds. As a team, the Senators remained in fifth place with a team score of 23-over. Kirkwood CC is in first at five-over.
Rinehart, who started the day in a tie for third place, had birdies on the third, fourth and 15th holes to shoot a 73 on Thursday.
Along with Rinehart, JT McKenzie shot a one-over on the day to move to six-over for the tournament. McKenzie, who sits in a tie for 19th, had birdies on the third and fourth holes and then eagled the 512-yard par-5 15th.
Rounding out the scoring for the Senators were Sawyer Spoone (T-31), Jeremy Ellis (T-63) and Chad Homan (T-80). Ellis shot a three-over on the day with birdies on five, 15 and 18 to put him at 16-over for the tournament, while Spoone shot eight-over on the day with birdies on three and 10 and is at nine-over for the tournament. Homan shot an 84 on Thursday with a birdie on 16.

The Senators will round things out on Friday for the final round of the NJCAA DII Golf Tournament at Swan Lake Resort. The Senators will begin teeing off at 11:57 a.m.
