Senators sit in a tie for third place at Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate

SEVIERVILLE, TN – No. 12 Walters State is in a tie for third place following the second round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon at Sevierville Golf Club.

 

On Monday, Walters State shot a 10-over (298) in round two. For the tournament, the Senators are in a tie for third place with Findlay at five-over. North Georgia is in second place at three-over while Carson-Newman is in first at 10-under. 

 

Chad Homan led the way for the Senators, shooting a one-over (73) in round two. Homan is at even-par for the tournament and is in a tie for 11th. In round two, he birdied the first and seventh holes. 

 

Along with Homan, AJ Rinehart shot a two-over (74) on Monday to sit at one-under for the tournament and in 10th place. Rinehart had birdies on the second and 12th holes. 

 

Other golfers for Walters State on Monday were JT McKenzie (T15), Jeremy Ellis (T37) and Sawyer Spoone. McKenzie shot a four-over (76) in round two and is at one-over for the tournament. He birdied the third, seventh and eighth holes.

 

Meanwhile, Ellis shot a three-over (75) on Monday with a birdie on the 10th hole. Spoone shot a four-over (76) and birdied the ninth hole.

Walters State will close out the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Sevierville Golf Club. It will be a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.
