TIFTON, GA – Walters State opened up their spring season on Monday afternoon at the Stallion Spring Invite, sitting in second place after the first two rounds.
The Senators shot a 304 in round one of the day and followed it up with a 300 in round two, putting them at 28-over. They are tied with Wallace State while Central Alabama CC is in first place at 14-over.
AJ Rinehart was the low man for the day, sitting in a tie for second at 4-over. Rinehart shot a 75 in round one and followed it up with a 73 in round two. Rinehart had three birdies in each round.
Along with Rinehart, Chad Homan and Jeremy Ellis both sit in the top-10, tied in 10th at 7-over. Homan shot a 78 in round one but followed up with a 73 in round two, carding three birdies. Ellis shot a 78 in his first round and followed it up with a 73, carding three birdies,.
Rounding out the scoring for the Senators were JT McKenzie (T26) and Sawyer Spoone (T59). McKenzie currently sits at 12-over after shooting a 73 in round one and an 83 in round two. Spoone shot a 12-over in round one and a 9-over in round two.
Playing as an individual, Walters State's Connor Price is in a tie for 43rd after shooting a 79 in round one and an 80 in round two.
Coastal Alabama CC's Joe Pennington is in first place at 2-under.
