Senators finish in fourth at Stallion Spring Invite

TIFTON, GA – No. 12 Walters State closed out the Stallion Spring Invite on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in fourth place.

 

On Tuesday, the Senators shot a 311 to finish the tournament at 51-over. Central Alabama CC won the tournament, shooting a 22-over. Abraham Baldwin and Wallace State finished in a tie for second at 45-over. 

 

AJ Rinehart was the Senators top finisher in the tournament, coming in a tie for ninth place at 9-over. Rinehart eagled the third hole in his final round, shooting a 5-over for the final 18 holes. 

 

Finishing in a tie for 13th place were Chad Homan and JT McKenzie at 12-over. Homan had one birdie in the final round, on the 15th hole, while McKenzie birdied holes three, 17 and 18. Homan shot five-over in the final round while McKenzie shot even-par. 

 

Rounding out the scoring for Walters State were Jeremy Ellis (T37) and Sawyer Spoone (65). Ellis shot 14-over on Tuesday while Spoone finished at 13-over in round three. 

 

Playing as an individual, the Senators Connor Price finished in a tie for 48th at 24-over. Price shot an 81 on Tuesday.

Walters State will be back in action on March 12 for the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. The tournament will take place at the Sevierville Golf Club.
