Rinehart in first place at Bob Dibble Intercollegiate

GREENEVILLE, TN – AJ Rinehart carded six birdies and an eagle on Monday afternoon in the first round of the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate, sitting in first place at four-under (67).

 

As a team, the Senators are in third place with a team score of eight-over. Tusculum is in first at one-over, while Emmanuel College is in second at two-over.

 

Rinehart started his day on the back nine and birdied the first three holes. Following a bogey on 13, Rinehart got the stroke back on 15 with a birdie. Rinehart bogeyed 16 and 17 but bounced back with a birdie on 18.

 

On the front nine, Rinehart bogeyed the second hole but finished the round with a birdie on seven and an eagle on eight. Rinehart has a one-shot lead on Tusculum's Liam van Deventer and Emanuel College's Daniel Alonso.

 

Along with Rinehart for the Senators, Chad Homan is in a tie for 18th place at three-over while Jeremy Ellis is in a tie for 21st at four-over. Homan birdied the ninth and 11th holes, while Ellis birdied the seventh, ninth, 13th and 15th holes. 

 

Rounding out the day for Walters State were JT McKenzie and Sawyer Spoone. Both are in a tie for 27th at five-over. McKenzie had birdies on eight and 17, while Spoone birdied the final two holes of his round.

Walters State will be back in action tomorrow for the final round of the Bob Dibble Intercollegiate.
