Rinehart wins 2022 Maryville College Invite

Lenoir City, TN – Walters State's AJ Rinehart rallied from four shots down to take home first place at the Maryville College Invite on Tuesday afternoon.

Rinehart entered the day at even-par, four shots behind the leader. However, while Rinehart ended the day where he started, at even-par, the leader came back to him and Rinehart took advantage to win by one shot.

As a team, Walters State finished in fourth-place with a score of 617 (48-over). The Senators shot a 306 on Tuesday, five shots better than Monday's opening round.

Point University won the tournament with a 16-over.

Rinehart started the day off strong with a birdie and then eagled the third hole to move to 3-under for the day and for the tournament. After two bogies, Rinehart gave himself some breathing room with a birdie on 13 to get back to 2-under. Rinehart bogeyed two of the last four holes, but the lead was enough for the one-shot victory.
