Walters State in fourth place after first round of Tusculum Invitational

CHUCKEY, TN -- Walters State teed it up for the second straight week on Monday, this time participating in the Tusculum Invitational at Graysburg Hills Golf Course.  

 

After the first round, Walters State sits in fourth place with a combined score of 314 (26-over). Host Tusculum is in first place with Lenoir-Rhyne in second and Milligan in third. The Senators are ahead of seven other teams in the event. 

The Senators were led in the first round by Hunter Hartman who shot a 5-over 77 and Justin Cowden who shot a 6-over 78. Hartman is in a tie for 14th while Cowden is in a tie for 16th. Nate Vaughan finished right behind Cowden with a 7-over 79 which has him in 19th place.  

Behind those three, Chad Homan came in with an 8-over 80 that has him in a tie for 24th while Zach Wood rounded out the scoring with a 9-over 81 that has him in 29th place.  

Tusculum's Liam van Deventer sits in first place after one round, shooting a 5-under 67. 

UP NEXT:  

Walters State will be back at Graysburg Hills on Tuesday morning for the second and final round of the Tusculum Invitational.
