JOPLIN, MO – Walters State closed out the NJCAA DII Golf Tournament on Friday afternoon, finishing in 13th place at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.
Walters State finished the tournament shooting 93-over. On Friday, the Senators shot 27-over. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the tournament.
Individually, Nick Talley finished in a tie for 27th. Talley shot a 10-over (82) on Friday with a birdie on the 10th hole. Talley shot 14-over for the tournament.
Along with Talley, Bowen Brantley finished in a tie for 47th. Brantley shot a four-over (76) in his final round, with a birdie on the 13th hole. Brantley finished at 19-over.
Finishing third for the Senators was Sloan Brooks. Brooks shot a 10-over (82) in his final round with a birdie on the 16th hole. Brooks finished the tournament at 29-over and in a tie for 78th.
Rounding out the team were Ian Kinsey (T86) and Jonas Rayfield. Kinsey shot a six-over (78) in his final round and birdied the second hole. Kinsey shot 34-over for the tournament.
Meanwhile, Rayfield was subbed in to play the final round in the fifth-spot. Rayfield shot seven-over (79) and had a birdie on the sixth hole.
