MORRISTOWN, TN – The Walters State A Team won the Walters State Fall Classic on Tuesday, while the Senators B Team finished in second-place.

The Senators A Team won the tournament after shooting a 308 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 37-over. The B Team shot a 316 to finish at 47-over for the tournament.

Additionally, Nick Talley was named to the All-Tournament team after shooting a four-over to finish in fourth-place.

"It's good to win this after coming in second-place in playoffs in our first two tournaments," Walters State coach Tony Patterson said. "I told my team that I am happy that we finally finished it off and came in second, as well. Really happy about this but there is still a lot of room for improvement. We know that and will respond and get better."

Talley led the way for the A Team on Tuesday, shooting a one-over in round two. Like Monday, Talley birdied the first hole in round two. After a bogey on the second-hole, Talley caught fire on the back-nine with birdies on the 13th, 14th and 16th holes.

Along with Talley, Sloan Brooks came in seventh-place in the tournament after shooting five-over on Tuesday. Brooks birdied the sixth, 10th and 11th holes and finished the tournament at eight-over.

Blake Dawson was the third finisher for the Senators, coming in 13th-place at 12-over. Dawson shot six-over in round two with birdies on one, five and 10.

Rounding out the A Team were Bowen Brantley (13-over, 14th-place) and Blake Woody (14-over, 17th-place). Brantley and Woody both shot eight-over on Tuesday with birdies on the opening hole. The Senators A Team shot seven-under on the first hole for the tournament.

For the B Team, Ian Kinsey was the top finisher in sixth-place at seven-over. Kinsey shot seven-over in round two with a birdie on nine and a birdie on 13.

Close behind Kinsey was Alex Gaetz in eighth-place at nine-over. Gaetz shot four-over in his final round with a birdie on one and 11.

Tucker Mclain and Jonas Rayfield both finished in 25th-place at 18-over. Mclain shot nine-over on Tuesday with a birdie on five and 14. Meanwhile, Rayfield shot 13-over with a birdie on one.

Rounding out the team was Brant Kardatzke in 27th-place at 19-over. Kardatzke shot eight-over in his final round.

Walters State will be back in action on Monday, October 21, in the Atomic City Classic at Oak Ridge Country Club.

"We didn't putt as well as we have been so we need to work on that," Patterson said. "Decision-making, as well. We made some mental mistakes, but we will clean that up."
