Senators shoot -5 in final round to win Brad Rose Collegiate

KNOXVILLE, TN – Walters State claimed their first win of the season on Tuesday afternoon, taking home the Brad Rose Collegiate at Willow Creek Golf Club after shooting 5-under as a team in the final round. 

For the tournament, Walters State finished at 6-over to win by 10 shots over Wallace State. The Senators torched the course on Tuesday, shooting 4-under as a team on the 15th hole and 3-under on the eighth and 10th holes. 

Individually, Blake Woody took home third-place after shooting an impressive 4-under on Tuesday. Woody shot 1-under on the front-nine with a birdie on hole eight and then birdied holes 10, 14, 15 and 17 on the back-nine to shoot 3-under. Woody finished the tournament at even-par. 

Along with Woody, Sloan Brooks finished in sixth-place at one-over for the tournament. Brooks shot 2-under on Tuesday with birdies on holes five, eight, nine and 15. Brooks shot 3-under on the front-nine. 

Also finishing in the top-10 was Nick Talley. Talley shot 2-over for the tournament and finished in 7th-place. In Tuesday's final round, Talley shot 1-under with birdies on holes seven, 10 and 15. 

The final Senator in the top-10 was Bowen Brantley in 10th-place at four-over. Brantley shot 3-over on Tuesday with birdies on the eighth, 14th and 15th holes. 

Rounding out the team was Alex Gaetz in 16th-place at 6-over. Gaetz shot 2-over in his final round with a birdie on the 10th hole. 

The Senators also had three individuals in the tournament. Leading the way was Ian Kinsey in 19th-place at 7-over. Kinsey shot 5-over in his final round with a birdie on the 15th hole.

Rounding out the individuals were Blake Dawson in 42nd-place at 14-over and Brant Kardatzke in 60th-place at 19-over. Dawson had a birdie on the 11th hole on Tuesday and shot 78, while Kardatzke had a birdie on the eighth hole and shot 78.
