Senators in third-place after opening day of Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational

RICHMOND, KY – Walters State sits in third-place following the opening round of the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Battlefield Golf Course. 

As a team, the Senators shot 21-over and are behind Northwest Ohio and Indiana University East.

Leading the way for Walters State was Bowen Brantley in a tie for sixth place at 2-over. Brantley had a birdie on the 15th-hole and shot 1-over on both the front and back nine. 

Along with Brantley were Sloan Brooks and Alex Gaetz in a tie for 15th place at 6-over. Brooks had birdies on the first, eighth, 15th and 18th holes while Gaetz shot 3-over on both the front and back nine. 

Rounding out the team were Nick Talley in a tie for 19th at 7-over and Blake Woody in a tie for 22nd at 8-over. Talley shot 2-over on the front nine and 5-over on the back nine, while Woody had birdies on the 15th and 18th holes. 

Playing as an individual, Jonas Rayfield is in a tie for 19th place at 7-over. Rayfield had a birdie on the 9th-hole and shot 2-over on the front nine.
