MONTREAT, NC – Walters State closed out the regular season strong on Monday evening, sweeping Montreat College JV, 3-0 (25-14, 25-6, 25-22).

 

With the win, Walters State closed the regular season out with a record of 13-12. 

 

There were multiple players leading the way for the Lady Senators in their final match before the Region 7 Tournament. Rachel Miller had 10 kills while Madyson Greenlee had eight kills. Walters State found success on serve as well as Maddie Rockrohr had four aces while Brittany Kitchens had three aces to go along with six digs.

 

Faith Heskett had 10 digs to lead the team on the night. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will be back in action on Friday for the start of postseason play. The Lady Senators are the No. 2 seed in the Region 7 Tournament and will take on No. 3 seed Roane State in the semifinals. The match will be at Chattanooga State and is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. No. 1 Chattanooga State will take on No. 4 Cleveland State in the other semifinal matchup. 

 

During the regular season, Walters State swept Roane State in all three matches.
