CLEVELAND, TN – Top-ranked Walters State wasted no time advancing to Saturday's Region 7 Championship on Friday evening, sweeping fourth-ranked Cleveland State 3-0 (25-7, 25-8, 25-13) in the Region 7 Semifinals. 

 

With the win, Walters State moved to 23-7 on the season. They've now won six matches in a row. 

 

Leading the way for Walters State in the match were Lauren Mims with 10 kills and 11 digs, Alyssa Campbell with 10 kills and four blocks, Jaci Drinnon with 15 digs and three aces, Olivia Brown with 18 assists, eight digs and three aces and Maddie Rockrohr with eight kills and eight digs. The rest of the team added five aces. 

 

Up Next:

 

Walters State will be back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday for the Region 7 Championship against the winner of Chattanooga State and Roane State. The Championship will be held at Cleveland State.
