Mims named TCCAA/Region 7 Defensive Player of the Week, Hyatt named Offensive Player of the Week

MORRISTOWN, TN – Lauren Mims and Annah Cate Hyatt earned TCCAA/Region 7 weekly honors on Tuesday morning.

Mims was named the TCCAA/Region 7 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, while Hyatt was named the TCCAA/Region 7 Offensive Player of the Week.

It's Hyatt's first time earning weekly honors from the TCCAA. Mims was named Offensive Player of the Week once last season.

The duo led the charge in Walters State's 3-0 week. Against Campbellsville University JV, Mims had 15 digs and eight kills, while Hyatt had three kills and nine assists.

Later in the day against Bryan College JV, Mims had 17 digs, 11 kills and two aces. Hyatt set Mims up time and time again in the match, finishing with 13 assists. Hyatt also had five digs.

In the Lady Senators five-set win over Southwest Virginia on Saturday, Hyatt had 32 assists, 17 digs and five service aces, including three in a row in the fourth set. Mims had 26 digs and 12 kills, adding an ace as well.
