MORRISTOWN, TN – For the first time in conference history, the TCCAA gave their Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week to the same student-athlete.
On Tuesday, Walters State freshman Rylee Haynie was named the TCCAA Volleyball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week.
Haynie earned the honor following an unbelievable week. In five matches, Haynie had 48 kills, two aces, 11 digs and 32 total blocks. The 32 total blocks are a program record for a week.
Haynie helped lead Walters State to a 4-1 week, with wins over Pellissippi State, Pearl River, Snead State and Wallace State.
Haynie is the fourth Lady Senator to win a TCCAA weekly honor this season. Olivia Brown and Annah Cate Hyatt won Offensive Player of the Week earlier this year, while Lauren Mims was named TCCAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Haynie and the Lady Senators are back in action on Tuesday evening, on the road against Roane State. The match is set for 6:30 p.m.
