
HARRIMAN, TN – Rylee Haynie was named the TCCAA Volleyball Freshman of the Year on Friday during the TCCAA/Region 7 Tournament, while Megan Blaylock was named the TCCAA Volleyball Coach of the Year.
Haynie was also named All-TCCAA First Team, along with Lauren Mims and Alyssa Campbell.
The Freshman of the Year, Haynie had a great season for the Lady Senators at middle blocker. Haynie led the conference in total blocks with 96 and averaged 1.05 blocks per set. Haynie was third in the conference with a .303 hitting percentage and eighth in the conference with 189 kills. Haynie was named NJCAA DII Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season.
Blaylock was named TCCAA Coach of the Year for the sixth time. This year, Blaylock led Walters State to a 23-5 record and 7-1 record in the conference. The Lady Senators won the TCCAA Regular Season Title for the second straight season.
Mims was named All-TCCAA First Team following a phenomenal sophomore season. Mims was second in the conference in kills with 251, fourth in service aces with 40 and third in digs with 379. Mims also had 45 assists and 42 total blocks.
Campbell was also named All-TCCAA First Team. Campbell had 159 kills, 73 assisted blocks, 87 total blocks and a .246 hitting percentage. Campbell ranked second in the conference in assisted blocks and total blocks.
