MORRISTOWN, TN – Walters State's Tori Coffman and Kailey Dixon capped off their phenomenal two-year softball careers on Tuesday by being named NJCAA DI Softball All-Americans.
Coffman was named a First Team All-American, the second straight year she's received First Team All-American honors. Meanwhile, Dixon was named a Second Team All-American.
Despite missing a month of the season, Coffman finished the year with a 21-4 record and 0.99 ERA. Coffman struck out 272 batters and also had five saves. Coffman was fourth in the country in ERA and fifth in strikeouts. She was sixth in the country in saves.
Coffman was also named to the NJCAA DI Softball World Series All-Tournament team, going 2-1 with 29 strikeouts in 20.2 innings.
For her career, Coffman finished with a record of 53-5 and ERA of 1.07. She finished with 568 strikeouts and threw 341.1 innings.
Meanwhile, Dixon finished the year with a .477 average and .530 OBP. Dixon had six home runs and 58 RBIs, while stealing 33 bases. Dixon had 12 triples on the year and a fielding percentage of .989. She had 87 putouts in 89 total chances. Dixon was third in the country in triples.
For her career, Dixon finished with a .445 average and .494 OBP. She had nine home runs, 96 RBIs and stole 60 bases.
Coffman and Dixon helped lead Walters State to a 46-11 record, a TCCAA Regular Season Co-Championship and a sixth-place finish at the NJCAA DI Softball World Series for the second-straight season. For their career, the duo finished with a record of 101-15.
