Perkins named TCCAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

MORRISTOWN, TN –Walters State's Kyra Perkins has been named the TCCAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Perkins is the first Lady Senators to receive the honor this season.

Perkins earned Player of the Week following a 2-0 week. Perkins averaged 25.5 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 assists and four steals per game during the week.

Against University of the Cumberlands JV, Perkins was 10-15 from the field, scoring 28 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out five assists. She had four steals, as well.

On Saturday, Perkins shined in the Lady Senators' first TCCAA win of the season with 23 points on 11-17 shooting. Perkins had eight rebounds, four assists and three more steals.

Perkins and the Lady Senators are back in action on Wednesday, traveling to take on Roane State at 5:30 p.m.
